The owner lockdown checklist

Eight steps from Episode 4 of AI Nightmares. Free, and no email needed.

1. Use a password manager, and keep its master password somewhere safe offline.
2. Turn on two-step verification for every account, and keep the recovery codes on paper.
3. Turn on automatic updates, and restart your computer and phone once a week so they install.
4. Freeze your credit at Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, and write down how to unfreeze it.
5. Get an IRS Identity Protection PIN.
6. Ask your cell carrier for a port-out PIN or number lock, and write the PIN down.
7. Print the important documents you only have as digital copies.
8. Set a family and team safe word, and call back on a known number before anyone moves money.
